"This is just another GREENHOUSE EFFECT CLASSIC that sounds amazing at Jango and Pandora Radio's in 2018" Says Clark Hagins. The track is one of the last ever G.e. recordings from the very productive year of late 1992. "It's one of my favorite G.e songs because it has the spirit of late 1960's Psychedelia but it definitely packs a 1990's "indie rock" punch!" Says Hagins for ROCK CITY PRODUCTIONS 2018. A TOP SELLER at itunes for the band, this tune explodes with a "Garage rock" underground atmosphere that maybe could have come from The Who's Second album "A Quick One" ( Happy Jack ). 1966 ,.. "There is certainly a messy yet tight and disciplined Frank Zappa feel here too .... very DIY yet could also be very commercial too and at the same time" Says Hagins who recorded and overdubbed ALL OF THE INSTRUMENTS ( except for the bass by Rick Carmody) HERE AT a recording session at JET CITY SOUND STUDIOS - EL SEGUNDO CALIFORNIA along with Producer / Engineer The Late "Wild" Billy Krodel and Mark Mark Nathanson, .... a session that weirdly included tracks like "Theme", "IRIE BOB", 'KATIE'S SONG ( GURDLE )", It Ain't Easy, "So Much Better" and others ! ,... Unlike many of Hagins' songs which borrow heavily from other tracks Trad-Arr style, RIPPING REASON sounds almost entirely original; "This one isn't paying homage like a parody as so many of my others do." Says Hagins "But if you slow this thing down, You might hear the "Sons of the Silent Age" By David Bowie along with the "Unknown Soldier" by The Doors !!" Hagins has been accused online of "being way too derivative",.... and in 2017 was threatened with a Lawsuit from Universal Music and Nirvana at Vimeo regarding the song "Manipulation" as sounding too much like tracks from Nevermind until Hagins proved he held the copyrights for the mentioned track "From early 1991 !!" Barks Hagins ,.... Some ONE YEAR "BEFORE" NIRVANA !! "OUR MUSIC is genius ,.. our music was well thought out back in the day ,.. it's just coincidence and weird how we were both into practically the same identical music; Sonic Youth, The Pixies, Black Sabbath, Led Zep, the Stooges, Mc5, ... DAVID BOWIE ,... but that was just 'that time' late 1980's and many bands were trying to break the cycle of typical Sunset Strip Metal by doing what came to be called "Alternative rock" and I was just a part of those times indeed" Says Hagins. RIPPING REASON was one of the stand out cuts from the 1994 "Fountain" CD where Hagins briefly changed the name of his project after a hugely publicized tussle with L.A's BAM MAGAZINE; "THAT BAM MAGAZINE thing was so stupid" Says Hagins "But it definitely was one of those building blocks which made G.e so well known all over the web ,.. it gave me the energy to get this thing going and fully online by like 1998" Says Hagins. And true it is, the band has never looked back since. "We are huge on the internet and we are fixtures going way WAY BACK IN TIME NOW" Says Hagins.
